Product Replenishment Setup - Exceptions overview

Product > Setup > Replenishment

Use this page to set parameters that are associated with exceptions that are generated during Product Administration Month End Processing. You can set parameters for low activity threshold, frozen products about to unfreeze, line hits, and inventory value changes.

Exceptions that are created during Product Administration Month End Processing can be viewed in Product Exception Center.

The Threshold Low Activity exception is created during Product Administration Month End Processing to notify the buyer of situations where a product’s sales activity falls below a preset threshold. Sales activity is tracked by recording the number of hits that product experiences over a specified period of time.

Products with threshold minimum order points are checked during Product Administration Month End Processing. It is verified that their total number of hits does not fall below the minimum hits and months defined in the Threshold Low Activity section. The threshold minimum order point is defined in Product Warehouse Product Setup. The total number of hits includes sales hits, warehouse transfer hits, and lost business hits. You can view a product’s total hits in Product Inquiry - Replenishment, by clicking the Usage button, or in Product Exception Center - Detail on the Usage History view. You can also print the Purchase Buyers Threshold Report to view products with minimum thresholds and their expiration date.

The Frozen Exceptions pertain to the exceptions that are generated for these conditions:

  • Frozen products about to unfreeze
  • Products that have been frozen either permanently
  • Products that have a status of Order as Needed or Do Not Reorder
  • They must also show a minimum sales volume (hits) over a specific number of months

The Inventory Value exceptions are created in Product Exception Processing Administration when ordering controls are impacted by average sales quantity (ASQ), five-high, and threshold adjusters. You can use the Value Change Inquiry function in Product Exception Processing Administration to view inventory value changes.
