Product Storeroom Recovery Inquiry overview

Product > Inquiry > Storeroom Recovery

Function acronym: ICIR

Use this function to identify Storeroom products that qualify for recovery and to create Recovery Quote Orders.

You can use the Recovery Billing process in Distribution SX.e to perform these actions:

  • Monitor products in a Storeroom-managed warehouse that have not moved within a period of time
  • Convert those products to customer-owned
  • Bill the customer for the transfer of ownership

Specify the customer and recovery date, and then click Search. A product’s Last Receipt Date is compared against the Recovery Date. If a product's last receipt date is earlier than the recovery date, the product is displayed. Usage for the product is not considered. Optionally, specify a product and warehouse to filter the results of the search.

After the products to recover are listed, click Create Orders. One Quote Order (QU) is created for each warehouse, with up to 998 lines per order. If more lines are required, an additional Quote Order is created. After you review the pending orders with your customer, you can maintain the quote in Sales Order Entry to adjust quantities or remove lines. You can return products to the vendor.

You can convert a quote order to a stock order in Sales Order Entry after you perform these actions:

  • Determine that the products on the Quote Order should be transferred to customer-owned inventory
  • Bill the customer for the products

The copied order is automatically set to a shipped status, but no inventory is moved from its location. It remains in the warehouse for future orders. During sales invoice processing, the quantities are subtracted from Distributor On Hand balances and added to the Customer On Hand balances.

Recovery orders are noted in Sales Order Inquiry as Recovery: Yes.

Usually this process is performed monthly, but can be done at any time.
