Product Inquiry - Transactions overview

Product > Inquiry > Product

Use this page to view the transaction history from the Product Transaction Activity Report.

This inquiry is referred to as a ledger card inquiry. View the history of a product from multiple perspectives:

  • Inventory Control
  • Sales Order Entry
  • Purchase Order
  • Warehouse Transfer
  • Kit Production
  • Value Add
  • Vendor Accounts Payable
  • Price/Discounting

Unlike Product Availability Inquiry-Future, this view displays what has previously occurred to the Product Warehouse Product Setup-Ordering On Hand quantity.

The On Hand quantity is the current Product Warehouse Product Setup-Ordering On Hand balance for the product. The transactions display the quantities involved. The Transactions view takes what is presently On Hand and applies the history transactions to that balance, based on your selection criteria.

For each order, the On Hand quantity is the net result due to the quantity on the order. This inquiry displays the most current transactions first. The calculated On Hand quantity for an order is the result of the quantity +/- On Hand quantity from the line below it. The calculated On Hand balance is not affected by stock adjustment (sa) transactions entered through Transfer Exception Receipts Entry. An increase and a corresponding decrease is performed internally in the shipping warehouse. The line item displayed on the Transaction view is for the exception quantity. The On Hand column shows a net effect of 0.

For return in (ri) transactions entered in Sales Order Entry, the customer’s name is displayed. Vendor names are displayed for return exchange (re) and return out (ro) transactions entered in Purchase Order Entry.

If the transaction is a sales order, the value displayed in the Cost/Price column is the price of the product from the sales order line. If the transaction is any other type, the value displayed in the column is the cost of the product from the GL entry made when the product was purchased. Cost is per stocking unit, and includes any PO add-ons or the SM/GL cost.
Note: If an item is a special cost/price item, the cost represents the cost per special price/cost unit, not per stocking unit. This is referred to as the 'raw' cost.

Sorting transactions

To sort the transactions, click any column heading in the results table. An arrow is displayed next to the column title to indicate the sort order of the transactions. To reverse the sort order, click the column heading again.

Note: The running total for quantity on hand may look incorrect if a sort order other than Posted Date is chosen.

Attaching a product transaction note
