Product Inquiry - General overview

Use this page to inquire on static information for a specific product.

To check the availability of the product, click the Availability link in the General Details section to access the Product Availability Inquiry window.

If you specify a warehouse and a specific product, these buttons may be displayed: Balances, FIFO, Lot, Serial, and Rental.

Balances

Click the Balances button to view current system costs and balances for the product. It shows costs assigned to the product for the customer, and the current product balances for the customer. For example, if you have enabled and specified a Foreign Replacement Cost, that cost is displayed.

Access to costs is determined by settings on your SA Operator Setup record. You can have access to all system costs or a system cost from Product Warehouse Product Setup.

If you are using Storeroom, the Customer Costs and Customer Balances are displayed. These values pertain to customer-owned product only. The Customer Costs are derived from Product Warehouse Product Setup-Costs.

If you have integrated with Infor Service Management, you can view rental products or equipment, including serial products, that are available or currently rented. In the Search function, specify a rental product and a rental warehouse. Click the Balances button to view the results of the verification:

  • Committed: The quantity is increased by the quantity currently rented.
  • Net Available: The quantity is decreased by the quantity currently rented.

FIFO

This page is displayed only if your company is set up to use FIFO inventory valuation in SA Administrator Options for products.

Lot

Click the Lot button to view lot information for the product. including lot history and cut information. Drill down on a line to show the inventory transaction history. Cut piece information is displayed if you are integrated with Infor CPQ product configurator.

Serial

Click the Serial button to view serial information for the product, including serial history.

If you have integrated with Infor Service Management, you can view rental products or equipment, including serial products, that are available or currently rented. In the Search function, specify a rental product and a rental warehouse. Click the Serial button to view a grid listing all serial numbers for this rental product in this warehouse. In the grid, the Rented column values show the results of the verification. The check box is selected if this serial-numbered rental product is currently rented. The Status column value does not reflect rental status; it shows only the status from the Product Extended Serial Number Setup serial record.

Rental

Click this button to access the Item Availability form in Service Management.
