GL Administrator FRx GL Report overview

General Ledger > Administration > GLA Reports > GLAF

Function acronym: GLAF

Use this report to export General Ledger balance and transaction data for use in preparing financial reports in FRx Financial Reporter.

The data extraction function exports information from the system General Ledger into a flat file called frx.exp. This file is transferred via FTP to your SQL server and copied into a gateway table called gtw_fdm. Import stored procedures on the NxT_FRx database are executed to copy the data into tables in the FRx database called FDM60. Using the FRx Financial Reporter software, you can then view and manage financial reports based on this data.

Run this function as a stored report each night. If you run it nightly, leave the report ranges blank to export all General Ledger data regardless of journal number, division, department, account number, sub account, or period. You can only perform data extraction for a single company at a time. Therefore, set up a stored GL Administrator FRx GL Report for each company to be run sequentially. Complete the report processing before the import scripts are launched.

The data extraction can be run for a previous year’s history only if you are operating on a fiscal year basis. If you are operating on a 13-period fiscal year, and you export control information for any year that does not match the current fiscal year in SA Administrator Options-Financials-Fiscal Year, a warning message is displayed.
Note: Data that is extracted is appended to the frx.exp file, however, it is not duplicated. Any matching data that was extracted previously is marked with a "change" marker if you enter new data. When you run this report, you can choose to extract unmarked, or both marked and unmarked, records.

After you complete the extraction, a report is generated that shows the total extracted records.
