Customer Trial Balance Report overview

Customer > Reports > AR Reports > ARRT

Function acronym: ARRT

Use this report to display the total balance for each customer from the Customer Maintain Balances Entry record as of the current date or any date you enter. This balance can be compared against the actual General Ledger AR account balance, which is also printed.

The report prints in two sections. The first section displays detail lines for each AR Control account balance in invoice, customer, or GL account code order depending on the detail option you specify for the Detail (I)nvoice, (C)ustomer, or (G)L, (T)otal option. The second section, printed on a separate page, displays the grand total Accounts Receivable balance and General Ledger balance for each Control account.

When you specify T for the Detail (I)nvoice, (C)ustomer, or (G)L, (T)otal, only the second section is included on the report.

Use caution when you specify range parameters. If you limit too much information, the AR balance may differ from the GL balance. If the ranges affect the AR balance, this message is displayed at the end of the report:s

Warning: Range Option(s) Were Selected. Printed AR Balances Will Not Equal Printed GL Balance

Close all open journals before you run this report. If a journal is open, the journal number, operator, function name, date and time are displayed at the top of the report. Find the journal, close it, and then rerun the report.

Note:  When the Customer Trial Balance Report is run in Detail format, balance transactions are created that are used to track balancing history. These are printed on the GL Balance History Report if Track Balancing History in SA Administrator Options-Financials-Period Structure is selected. If you print the Customer Trial Balance Report and specify T for the Detail (I)nvoice, (C)ustomer, or (G)L, (T)otal option, the GL Balancing history files are not updated.
