SA Table Code Value Setup - Unit Conversion field descriptions

Fields are listed in alphabetical order within each section.

General

Description

Specify a short description for the record.

Unit

A unique value that identifies this table value.

Extended

Conversion Factor

The conversion factor is applied to the stocking unit or standard pack to convert it to the unit in which to buy, count, or sell products. The conversion factor calculation is based on the parameters that you specify here or in Product Extended Unit Conversion Setup. Distribution SX.e applies the factor during transaction entry to calculate the prices or costs, based on the unit of measure.

EDI Unit of Measure

This field is required if you use Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Specify the Unit of Measurement Code as defined in the element table (Element 355) in the ANSI X12 Standard manual.

You can also use this field to specify a two-character unit of measure used by the Infor Service Management integration.

See the Infor Distribution SX.e Integration Guide for Infor Service Management.

Stocking Units in this Unit

See Units in a Stocking Unit.

Unit Conversion Type

The unit conversion type defines how the unit conversion is applied to the selling unit during Sales Order Entry or Purchase Order Entry.

  • If you select Multiple, then specify a decimal value for the Stocking Units in This Unit field. The amount you specify in the Stocking Units in This Unit field is multiplied by the stocking unit to determine the selling unit. For example, if you stock an item by board feet, but sell it in one unit made up of 10.5 board feet, the unit conversion factor is 10.5.
  • If you select Fraction, then the stocking unit is multiplied by the fractional unit of measure to determine the selling unit. For example, if your stocking unit is a case of 12 items which you sell individually, the Units in a Stocking Unit would be 12.

You can only specify a decimal value if you select a multiple unit conversion type.

Units in a Stocking Unit | Stocking Units in this Unit

The label of this field changes is based on the Unit Conversion Type that you select. If you select Multiple, then the title of this field is Stocking Units in this Unit. If you select Fraction, the title of this field is Units in a Stocking Unit. Specify the number of stocking units set up in Product Setup contained in this unit. The number of stocking units may be a decimal value if you selected a multiple unit conversion type above. If it is a decimal, then it can be less than one, but must be greater than zero. If you selected a fraction conversion type, then you must enter a whole number. All units, other than stocking units (selling, buying, counting), can be set up in this table or in Product Extended Unit Conversion Setup.
