Credit card tokens

Use Customer Credit Card Setup to set up credit card information for a specific customer. This function provides a convenient way for you to keep customers’ credit card information on file for quick access. This information autopopulates Sales Order Entry fields when you tender a sales order as a credit card payment for that customer. You can set up an unlimited number of credit cards for a customer and customer ship-to locations. You can also specify the sequence in which credit card tokens are displayed in lookup functions.

When you add a credit card specifying CenPOS as your credit card processor, you input the cardholder data (CHD) directly into CenPOS' stand-alone, secure web browser. CenPOS returns a "token," an alias number for the credit card number. The token is a number that is generated by CenPOS. The token is tied to the actual credit card number, which is stored on the CenPOS server.

To enable tendering during sales order entry, the token process shows the last four digits of the customer's credit card number. This protection method is called a primary account number (PAN) truncation. The token process provides a recognizable number during setup and tendering.
