Populating a shopping list from Infor CPQ configurator

Distributors often use Infor CPQ to specify the options that are needed to meet certain specifications and build a complete product. You can add the resulting bill of materials (BOM) as individual items in a Shopping List, then you can add the items as individual sales order line items, instead of as a kit. This is helpful when you must adjust, add, delete, or backorder individual items.

Use these steps to populate a shopping list using product configuration details from Infor CPQ:

Note: A specific product can only exist in the Shopping List once. Items returned from CPQ that already exist in the Shopping List are skipped. We recommend writing the CPQ manufacturing rules so that a specific product is returned once in the item list with the total quantity needed.
  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Create or maintain a stock order.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select Line Entry > Shopping List.
  5. Click the Configurator grid option.
  6. Specify this information:
    Rule Set
Select CPQ configuration rule set from the list of available options. The options in this field are determined by the Configurator Rule Sets table in SA Table Code Value Setup.
    Quantity
    Specify a quantity.
    Unit
    Specify a unit.
  7. Click Configure.
  8. Configure the item or BOM in CPQ; click Finish.
  9. Click the left arrow in the Configuration Complete window to return to your Shopping List in Sales Order Entry. The bill of materials (BOM) resulting from your configuration parameter is added as individual items to the Shopping List.
Note: After it is populated, the Shopping List is no longer tied to Infor CPQ and cannot be reconfigured like BOD kit line items.
