Entering a sales order for a Service Management assembly product

You can enter an assembly product and its associated assembly components on a stock order, direct order, or a quote. If you create a quote, then you must convert it to a stock order or direct order for processing.

After you create the sales order, run the Sales Entry Generate Service Orders for Assembly Report to create a corresponding assembly SRO in Service Management. If the assembly SRO is successfully created, then you cannot edit the sales order unless you are granted authority for the Change Assembly SRO Sales Orders authorization point.

For additional information, see the Infor Distribution SX.e Integration Guide for Infor Service Management.

Note: Restrictions are imposed when you create or maintain a sales order for assembly products. You cannot include products that are not related to an assembly product, or reorder the lines. Additionally, you cannot send an assembly product to lost business without first sending the assembly components to lost business.
  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Specify the required information on the Initiate page, and then click Next.
  3. In Advanced Line Entry, specify the primary assembly product and the quantity.

To establish unit configuration history in Service Management, you must enter each assembly product on a separate line. For example, if the customer ordered two assembly products, enter the assembly product with a quantity of one. Then add the related assembly components as described in the proceeding steps. After you complete the first line item, add another line item for the second assembly product. Then add the assembly components for the second assembly product.

  4. In the Extended Fields section, specify this information:
    SRO Assembly
    Select this option.
    SRO Template
Select the template that is associated with the assembly product.
Note: If default values are displayed, then they are from the Product Setup record. You can change them.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Add the assembly components that are associated with the assembly product.
    1. Specify the assembly component and the quantity.
    2. In the Extended Fields section, verify that the line number and assembly product are displayed in the Related SRO Assembly field.
    3. Click Add.
  7. Optionally, add additional assembly products and their related assembly components to the order.

If you add an assembly component that is not listed directly after its related assembly product, then verify the value in the Related SRO Assembly field.

  8. Finish the order.
The Tag and Hold disposition is assigned to the order to prevent back orders and shipment.
