Changing the price on a sales order

When you create an order in Sales Order Entry, the price that defaults for the product depends upon numerous factors. A complex pricing hierarchy is used to determine the price. You can override the price, unless these system settings prevent it:

  • Hard System Price

If the Hard System Price option is selected in PD Pricing Setup, you must have security to override the price, discount, and discount type. Security is controlled by the Allow Override of Hard System Price setting in SA Operator Setup-Entry Options.

  • Pricing Override Tolerances

If override tolerances are specified in PD Pricing Setup, you must have the security to change the price to a value that is outside of the tolerances. Security is controlled by the Allow Override of Pricing Tolerances setting in SA Operator Setup-Entry Options.

If you use the Pricing page in Sales Order Entry to review your pricing options, the override tolerances are displayed. You can recalculate the price, based on the system price. The system price is the price that would have been originally calculated. Click System Pricing to recalculate the price. Click Restore Pricing to restore the price to what it was before you changed it.
