Entering stand-alone comment lines

Stand-alone comments are electronic annotations that you can use to add important information to orders during transaction entry.

Comments can provide informative text about the product line, upcoming promotions on the product, detailed descriptions, or internal notes to your company’s employees. Comments are not attached to a specific line item, but rather are listed as separate lines on an order.

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Add or maintain an order.
  3. After you add lines to the order, click Edit Lines.
  4. Select Move > Multi-Line.
  5. Select Show Comment Lines .
  6. Select Sub Lines > Create.
  7. Specify values in the Create and Line # fields to determine the location of the comment.
  8. Select a value in the Line Type field.
    Internal Comment
    Select this value to create a comment that is displayed on all entry and inquiry functions and on pick tickets.
    External Comment
    Select this value to create a comment that is displayed on all external documents, such as acknowledgements, invoices, bills of lading, and pick tickets.
  9. Specify values in the Label and Description fields.
    The label value corresponds to the product information on the order. The description value corresponds to the product description information on the order.
  10. Optionally, select one or more line items and then use the Move menu to rearrange the lines, comments, and subtotals on the order.
    Note: You cannot move a comment or sub total line.
  11. Click Submit to add the comment to the order.
  12. Click Finish to finish the order.
