Using the Configurator for build-on-demand kits

Customer service representatives (CSRs) placing orders for build-on-demand kits can access the Infor CPQ Enterprise Configurator automatically as they enter the order in Sales Order Entry.

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Specify a customer number and warehouse.
  3. In Order Type, select Stock or Counter Sale.
  4. Complete the remaining fields as necessary in the Initiate view.
  5. Click Next.
  6. In the Select Products view, click Advanced.
  7. In Product, specify a configuration product and press Tab. The CPQ Enterprise Configurator launches automatically if certain conditions are met. First, the product must be a qualified build-on-demand kit; that is, the product is designated in Product Setup as a Configure Kit. The product must be designated in a CPQ Enterprise Configurator Ruleset.

    Optionally, if ordering a transferable build-on-demand kit, complete the fields in the Fabricated Kit Information window; click OK.

  8. In CPQ Enterprise Configurator, complete the line.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. Close the Configuration Complete page to return to the current order in Sales Order Entry.
  11. Click Add.

    The line is not added to the order if the CSR does not complete the CPQ configuration sequence.

  12. Complete the order. The order number is displayed.

    Order information is stored in the Distribution SX.e cfgdata table. The key values for this table are company number, order type, order number, order suffix, line, and sequence number.
