Setting up an alternate warehouse

Use the Product Extended Warehouse Cross Reference Setup function to allow one warehouse to automatically sell products contained in another warehouse. If the product you are selling in Sales Order Entry does not have enough on hand in the selling warehouse, you can view available stock in the alternate warehouses you set up here. When you select an alternate warehouse, the stock is reserved in that warehouse and an automatic warehouse transfer is created after your order is invoice processed.

  1. Select Product > Setup > Extended Warehouse Cross Reference.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Assigned Warehouse

Specify the warehouse that is permitted to sell products from an alternate warehouse. The global warehouse, or the default warehouse on your SA Operator Setup record, is displayed by default. You can accept the default or specify a different value.

    Alternate Warehouse

Specify the warehouse that has given permission to the assigned warehouse to sell directly out of their inventory without prior authorization.

    Service Truck Stock Inventory

This field pertains to Infor Service Management integrations. It is only available if Do Not Print Service Pick Ticket is not selected in SA Administrator Options-Integrations-Service Management.

Select this option to indicate that the alternate warehouse is a technician truck that maintains inventory. You must select this option to identify the technician truck on the pick tickets for service orders. The technician truck is included on pick tickets if the shipment type is Inventory Issue.

  4. Click Save.
