Creating a warehouse product from a catalog product

Use these instructions to create Product Setup and Product Warehouse Product Setup records, based on a Product Catalog Setup record.

You can perform this task if your operator security allows it, based on the Catalog Stocking in IC setting on your SA Operator Setup record. Additionally, the catalog product must be eligible for conversion to an inventory product, based on the Order Entry Catalog Invoice Create setting in Product Catalog Setup.

  1. Select Product > Setup > Warehouse Product.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify the catalog product in the Product field.
  4. Specify values in the other required fields, and then click Save.
  5. Click Yes for the Create Catalog Product in Inventory? question.
  6. Specify this information:
    Product Type

Select Standard Product, Remanufactured Product, or Dirty Core.

    Status

Select Stock, Order As Needed, or Order As Needed - Non-Stock.

    Country of Origin

Specify the county where the product was manufactured, produced, or grown. When used in conjunction with an HS Code or tariff code, the country of origin further defines the criteria for a particular tax rate.

    Tariff Code

Specify a Harmonized System (HS) Code or another type of tariff code. A harmonized tariff code is part of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System that was created by the World Customs Organization (WCO). A logical nomenclature method is applied by the HS system to categorize goods into commodity groups. Countries often assign customs duties, based on the harmonized tariff code of the product.

  7. Click Submit.
  8. Complete the record, and then click Save.

The Product Setup record is created automatically.
