Reviewing receiving exceptions

Exception records are created during Purchase Receipt of Inventory Entry when a product's safety allowance or lead time falls outside the minimum and maximum settings in Product Replenishment Setup.

Review PO receiving exceptions daily in the Product Administration Exception Processing Center. After you review the receiving exceptions, delete them. They can only be removed manually. They are not overwritten by Purchase Receipt of Inventory Entry or the Product Administration Month End Processing Report.

  1. Verify that safety review settings are defined in Product Replenishment Setup-Ranking-Detail Rank Records for each rank level.
  2. Verify that the correct values are set up in Product Replenishment Setup-Lead Time.
  3. Run Purchase Receipt of Inventory Entry, or verify that it has been performed.
  4. Select Product > Administration > Exception Center.
  5. In the Exception Selection field, select Purchase Order Safety Review and Purchase Order Lead Time Review.
  6. Click Search. The exceptions generated during Purchase Receipt of Inventory Entry are displayed in the grid.
  7. Open a record to view the detail. You can make changes to the product’s ordering controls from the Detail window, if necessary.
  8. Optionally, change the product’s ordering controls.
  9. After the review is complete, return to the search results, select the record, and then click Delete .
