PS Schedule Entry overview

Production Scheduling > Entry > Schedule

Function acronym: PSES

Use this page to view the VA work orders that are currently in production in your fabrication or work centers.

The PS Schedule Entry grid displays Value Add work orders with labor lines in Internal (IT) or Inspection (IS) sections. The total minutes for all labor lines are summed for each production line or section for the same production date.

PS Schedule Entry is updated by the ProductionOrder BOD when these events occur in Distribution SX.e:

  • A VA work order is created with labor lines in IT or IS sections
  • A VA work order is canceled or completed (and is removed from the schedule)
  • A VA work order labor line is deleted
  • The Requested Ship Date on a VA section or line is changed
  • The Quantity is changed on a VA labor line
  • A backorder is created for a VA section (causing a work order to be renumbered)
  • A VA work order is renumbered manually
  • The stage of an IT or IS section is changed
  • The Estimated Minutes or Actual Minutes of a labor line is changed
  • The Quantity Based on Total option is changed

When a VA work order is canceled or completed, or an IT or IS section is completed, it is dropped from the Production Scheduling grid.

Production schedules are not maintained in PS Schedule Entry. Any changes to a work order that impacts the schedule are made in VA Order Entry. For example, if you review the Production Scheduling grid and see that a production line process is taking longer than estimated, you may elect to move the labor time recorded thus far into work-in-process, or WIP, status. Set the WIP status for the labor lines in VA Order Entry. A new section is created for the completed production time, and the VA order is resequenced. You can view the new production line for the remaining pending work in the Production Scheduling grid.

Drill down on detail for each production date to view all production lines planned for that date. A production line equates to all VA work order IT or IS sections with that production due date. For each production line, you can drill down to view the sales orders tied to that work order, and further, for each order, the related work order number.
