PD Entry Journal Print overview

Pricing and Discounting > Entry > PDE Reports > PDEJ

Function acronym: PDEJ

Opening the journal and posting to the General Ledger is the last step in the rebate reconciliation process. If you need to review journals, for example, to perform research, use this function to print the journals that have been posted as part of the rebate reconciliation process because journals do not print automatically.

This report includes the current exchange rate, and the rebate amount in both foreign and domestic currency, if the vendor uses foreign currency. If the vendor is domestic, the foreign currency information is not shown on the report.

Price/Discounting journals are created from these functions:

  • PD Rebate Reconciliation Entry when the proof amount is zero.
  • PD Change Price and Cost Entry when standard or replacement costs changes are posted to the General Ledger.
  • PD Vendor Price Change Entry
  • PD Administrator Future Price/Costs Report when the SA Administrator Options-Product-Cost Post to G/L By or Post to S/M By options are Standard or Replacement; PD Mass Maintenance Entry records exist for the company; and SA Operator Setup - Controls allow cost changes.
  • PD Administrator Price/Costs Update Report when the SA Administrator Options-Product-Cost Post to S/M By option is either Standard or Replacement and your SA Operator Setup - Controls Allow Changing of GL Cost is set to Yes.
  • EDI Entry Processing Rebates Report

You can print the GL Transaction Entry transactions that are created in these functions from PD Entry Journal Print using the ranges and options that are available.

Because there are several ranges available to print a journal, limit the number of ranges used to one or two. If more are selected, the report can become very complex and difficult to understand. Common combinations include:

  • Journal Number
  • Journal Number / Set #
  • Period/Open Date
  • Operator
