Customer Ship To Setup - General overview

Customer > Setup > Ship To

Use this page to specify additional ship to addresses and job tracking-related information for customers. A customer can have multiple ship-to addresses for one bill-to address.

In Sales Order Entry, the information that is specified on ship to records is used instead of information from Customer Setup records. If you use jobs, set up each job as a ship to record, so each job in its own record.

The created by operator, date, time, and process that created the customer ship to record are stored in Customer Ship To Setup.

Division security

If you have multiple divisions in your company, customer ship to records can be assigned to a division. Based on security settings in SA Operator Setup-Other Options, users can be restricted to viewing and maintaining data for one or a list of divisions. They are also prevented from creating sales orders for customer ship tos assigned to divisions that are not on their list of allowed divisions.

If you have customers who should not be restricted by division, do not assign a division number in Customer Ship To Setup. This may be the case for customer ship tos who may purchase from multiple locations in your company.
Note: If your company is fully divisionalized, the Division # is required in Customer Ship To Setup. For ease of implementation with multiple divisions, you can assign the same division number to those customers that are managed at the corporate level only. Employees that maintain corporate-level customer records can have this division in their list of allowed divisions in SA Operator Setup.

Restricted editing

Use the Restricted Editing option in Customer Ship To Setup to prevent users from maintaining certain customer ship to records. If this option is selected, users cannot edit the record unless the Allow Editing of ‘Restricted Editing’ AR Records option is Yes in SA Operator Setup-Other Options. The Restricted Editing option can be used whether or not you assign users to allowed divisions.
