Releasing and shipping a Manufacturer Rep order

When you receive a commission payment from the manufacturer vendor for a Manufacturer Rep order that was created in Sales Order Entry, you can release the order in Sales Credit Release Inquiry or you can release and ship it at the same time in Sales Shipping Feedback Entry.

These instructions are for releasing and shipping a Manufacturer Rep order in Sales Shipping Feedback Entry.

Note: If you use operational hold codes and have created a hold code in SA Table Code Value Setup-Operational Hold Code, you can search for all Manufacturer Rep sales orders on hold in Sales Order Inquiry. Specify the hold code you created for Manufacturer Rep orders in the Operational Hold Code field on the Advanced Search window.
  1. Select Sales > Entry > Shipping Feedback.
  2. Search for the order to ship.
    1. In the Search panel, specify the ordering customer number or warehouse.
    2. Select Manufacturer Rep Order in the Type field.
    3. Click Search.
  3. Or click Quick Ship and specify the order number.
  4. Drill down on the order you are releasing or click Detail on the Quick Ship window.
  5. Specify the date the product was shipped to your customer by the manufacturer in the Actual Manufacturer Shipment field. The Manufacturer Order Status is changed to Manufacturer Shipped.
  6. The date in the Expected Commission Payment field is updated based on the terms for the manufacturer’s Customer Setup record. You can override this date with actual payment date.
  7. If you are also releasing the order from hold, specify Y in the Approve field, or if you use operational hold codes, click the Inquire arrow next to the Approve field.
  8. Select the Manufacturer Rep order hold and click Release.
  9. Return to the Shipping Details window. The Approve field is changed to y.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Return to the Quick Ship window or to the orders grid.
  12. Click Ship/Unship on the Quick Ship window or select the order in the grid and click Ship/Unship.
  13. Specify any printing options and click OK.
    The order is ready to be included in your next Sales Entry Invoice Processing Report.
