SA Administrator Options - System - Report Scheduler field descriptions

Maximum Simultaneous Jobs
IIn CloudSuite Distribution, the maximum number of simultaneous jobs that can be run for each hour is set by Infor and cannot be changed. The limit is 5 jobs per hour. This ensures that a single tenant cannot run a large number of reports at one time and potentially cause performance issues for other tenants within the database. You can save a value that greater than 5, but the limit of 5 is enforced.
Note:  The maximum simultaneous jobs does not affect on-demand jobs. On-demand jobs are processed immediately regardless of the values you specify for these fields.
Defaults
Interval

Indicate the polling interval for Report Scheduler. Valid values are 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, and 60 seconds. When Report Scheduler reaches the defined polling interval, the process wakes and checks for jobs to run in the this order:

  1. Check for any on demand jobs to process.
  2. Check for all other Report Scheduler scheduled jobs.
Note:  The interval you specify does not affect on-demand jobs. On-demand jobs are processed immediately regardless of the interval you specify.

The login ID is set to 0000rpt and cannot be changed. This value was chosen for these reasons:

  • A user ID with a company number of 0000 was chosen because Report Scheduler is not company-specific.
  • You cannot set up a company number 0; therefore, it is impossible to create a valid user ID of 0000rpt in Distribution SX.e.
  • SQL user ID access to the Progress OpenEdge database requires that the user ID begin with an alpha character; therefore, the user ID of 0000rpt cannot be used for SQL database access.
Password

The system administrator can change the default password if necessary. When you type a password, the characters you specify are masked with asterisks (*). The Login and Password fields are used during Report Scheduler startup to validate whether Report Scheduler is already running. If Report Scheduler is running, Report Scheduler cannot be started again. Only one instance of Report Scheduler can run at a time.

Note:  This field is not accessible to CloudSuite Distribution users.
Timeout

Use this field to limit the amount of time a read-only report can monopolize system resources. Read-only reports are those Distribution SX.e reports that read data to obtain the report output and do no updating. For example, the Customer Master List Report is a read-only report. Product Administration Month End Processing does update data and is not affected by this setting.
