Viewing EDI errors and exceptions in Sales Order Entry

To access the View EDI Errors and Exceptions page in Sales Order Entry, you must personalize the Customer Order Settings page. You must add the View EDI Errors and Exceptions button to the page.

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Click Maintain.
  3. Specify the order number, and then click Next.
  4. To determine what errors require review:
    1. Click Customer Order Settings, and then click View EDI Errors and Exceptions.
    2. Review the lines in the grid.
    3. Note which errors and exceptions require review, and then click the back arrow.
  5. To correct a header error, take the appropriate action.
  6. To correct an error on a line:
    1. Select Line Entry > Advanced.
    2. In the Product panel, click the line that requires review.

      Optionally, click Edit Lines and then click the right arrow to edit the line.

    3. Optionally, click the EDI Errors and Exceptions tab to view the error.
    4. Correct the line, if required.
  7. To flag the line as corrected or approved:
    1. Click Customer Order Settings, and then click View EDI Errors and Exceptions.
    2. Select the error or exception, and then click Correction or Approve.

      If you correct an error and there are no more errors for that transaction, these events occur:

      • All remaining exceptions are corrected.
      • The sales order is taken off hold.
  8. Click Finish, and then click the back arrow to return to line entry.
  9. Finish the order.
