Setting up products for dimensional cutting

You must define the cutting dimensions for Value Add assembly-type items that require dimensional cutting. You set up the cut information in Product Setup. If you use the product configurator, before you set up a product for dimensional cutting, you must set up the product for Infor CPQ Enterprise Configurator.

See Setting up products for product configurator.

  1. Select Product > Setup > Product.
  2. Specify the product and click Search.
  3. In the grid, select the item to edit.
  4. Select the Cut view.
  5. In the Cut Dimension Definition section, specify the cut type. A linear cut has length only defined. A dimensional cut has length and width defined. Select OE Linear Cut as the cut type for products that can be components of external assembly build-on-demand kits. Select RF Linear Cut to specify lengths in TWL RF.
  6. If you are setting up a product with a Cut Type of OE Linear Cut or RF Linear Cut, length only, set up the cut in the Linear Cut section with these specifications:
    Length
Specify whether the length unit of measure has one part or two parts. Specify 1 Part to define a single unit of measure. Specify 2 Part to define a two-part unit of measure.
    1st Part/2nd Part
For each part, specify whether the unit of measure value is an integer or a decimal.
    Part 1 Unit/Part 2 Unit
For each part, specify the unit.
    2nd Part Increment
Specify the increment. This dimension is a subset of the Part 1 Unit and Part 2 Unit dimensions and defines the numerical relationship to each. For example, if the Part 1 Unit is set to foot and the Part 2 Unit is set to inches, the increment would be 12.
  7. If you are setting up a product with a Cut Type of Dimensional Cut, length and width, set up the cut in the Dimensional Cut section:
    Length
Specify whether the length unit of measure has one part or two parts. Specify 1 Part to define a single unit of measure. Specify 2 Part to define a two-part unit of measure.
    Width
Specify whether the width unit of measure has one part or two parts. Specify 1 Part to define a single unit of measure. Specify 2 Part to define a two-part unit of measure.
    1st Part/2nd Part
For each part, specify whether the unit of measure value is an integer, decimal, or fraction.
    Part 1 Unit/Part 2 Unit
For each part, specify the unit. This dimension is a multiple of the cut product's stocking unit. The multiplier is based on the Part 2 Unit value. If the unit value is the stocking unit, then the multiplier is 1. If the unit value is an alternate unit setup in Product Extended Unit Conversion Setup or SA Table Code Value Setup-Unit Conversion, then the multiplier is taken from the alternate unit conversion factor.
