Entering a nonstock kit

A nonstock kit consists of two or more products that are combined into an individual product. Your security determines whether you can enter a nonstock kit.

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Complete the fields on the Initiate page, and then click Next.
  3. In Advanced Line Entry mode, select Non Stock in the Line Type list.
  4. On the Nonstock page, specify the nonstock kit in the Product field.
  5. Specify a product description.

The description is displayed on reports, orders, invoices, and pick tickets.

  6. Optionally, change the category.
  7. Select the Kit option.
  8. Optionally, select a value in the Kit Rollup field.

Indicate whether price, cost, or both should be rolled to calculate the price or cost of the kit, based on the components. If you manually specify the price or cost, rolling is not applicable.

  9. To expedite the nonstock kit, select the Rush option.

You can specify a rush amount in the Extended Fields section on the Advanced Line Entry page.

  10. Optionally, select the Back Order option.

If the Allow BO option in Customer Setup is not selected for this customer, this message is displayed when you exit the Non-Stock page: Non-Stock Product; No Back Order Scheduled; Adjusted if Exists.

You must then clear the Back Order option on the Nonstock page or in the Extended Fields section on the Advanced Line Entry page.

  11. Click Submit.
  12. Click Kits.
  13. Add a group or component to the kit.

Components can be stock or nonstock products. If you add a group, click the right arrow to view the kit group components.

  14. After you add the kit components and groups, specify the quantity and verify the unit and price of the kit product on the Advanced Line Entry page.
  15. Click Add to add the kit to the order.
  16. Finish the order.
