Evaluating inventory using ABC Stratification

The Product Administration ABC Inventory Evaluation Report uses the average inventory results from Product Administration Average Inventory Daily Calc Report to calculate a product’s profitability contribution. We recommend that you set up a daily stored job for each warehouse, or one report to process all warehouses that you are evaluating using ABC Stratification.

After running the Product Administration Average Inventory Daily Calc Report, run the Product Administration ABC Inventory Evaluation Report. To generate a report for review, specify R for the (U)pdate or (R)eport Only Mode option. Specify U to update the warehouse product records in Product Warehouse Product Setup.

If the system-generated stratification rank fails to measure the importance of the product, use these instructions to override the rank:

  1. Select Product > Setup > Warehouse Product.
  2. Specify search criteria and click Search.
  3. Select a product record in the grid.
  4. On the Ordering view, click Edit.
  5. In the Over field, specify the rank, A, B,C, or D, that you want to assign to the product. This override value becomes the final stratification rank until the Over Expiration date has passed.

    An Event Manager notification is generated when changes are made to the Over field.

  6. Specify an Over Expiration date.
  7. Click Save.
