Updating inventory with stock received from purchase orders

Use these instructions to close your current receiving session, update records, and initiate the Sales Entry Processing Back Order Fill Report. Because administrator options affect your internal workflow, only the basic steps to perform the update are included. Verify that all receipts have been correctly processed before you perform this update because you must make manual reversals to correct the updates.

  1. Select Purchase > Entry > Receipt of Inventory.
  2. Receive purchase orders, but do not close the journal.
  3. Click Final Update.
  4. Select printer options for the allocation and receipts report.
  5. Select printer options for the pick tickets if you are processing the Sales Entry Processing Back Order Fill Report.
  6. Select the pick ticket print order.
  7. Optionally, adjust backorders to accommodate a purchase order correction.
    If the correction decreased the received amount, the quantity on any open back orders is increased. If the correction increased the received amount, the quantity on open back orders is decreased.
  8. Click OK.
