Effective report schedules

Whenever you select a cyclical or continuous report run type, you can also set a time interval between the repeated cycles. This time is specified in minutes.

Consider these factors when you specify time intervals on a report schedule in SA Table Code Value Setup:

  • The amount of time it takes the reports to print. Do not repeat a print cycle before the reports have finished printing the first time.
  • The amount of time it takes for the data to be updated in the system before printing the reports again.
  • The interval needed to meet the requirements of the reports.
  • The purpose of the reports
  • The time frame in which employees and management require the reports
  • The frequency in which new reports are needed
  • The execution intervals effects on the system. Do not use repeating job groups with intervals that cause system-loading problems.
