Signature capture device configuration

This information is relevant only if you have enabled the CenPOS Signature Capture device option to use one device to capture a receipt signature and a credit card signature. If you already have configured and are running a scanner device for PIN or signature credit or debit card transactions, minimal additional setup for CenPOS Signature Capture for receipt of goods may be required.

Because devices and bridge connection methods supported by CenPOS are subject to change, check with your CenPOS representative for more information (http://www.cenpos.com/).

See Infor Distribution SX.e Credit Card Interface Integration Guide.

Device configuration

Some setup is required for the terminal and for the device. You need to ensure the CenPOS' bridge software is configured so CenPOS can find the device and provide the necessary connection with Distribution SX.e. When a connection is initiated, CenPOS automatically checks to see whether a scanner device is in place and maintains the necessary connections to accept data from the device.

The CenPOS Signature Capture device option supports additional Virtual Terminal Bridge connection methods for multiple CenPOS Signature Capture devices by using the IP address.

CenPOS provides you with access to their Virtual Terminal and various transaction forms that open through CenPOS' stand-alone, secure Web browser. The access is provided through a single centralized bridge or individual standard bridge connections.

However, if you are using a remote desktop protocol (RDP) to connect to a server-based Distribution SX.e WebUI, you must set up the CenPOS Signature Capture device option to handle these configurations appropriately. This functionality allows you to tie the IP address (of the computer where the VTB is installed) to the device, and to the transaction, and to the operator entering the transaction.

Device configuration setup

Use SA Table Code Value Setup to establish the Device Location type and associate that device with an IP Address. Set this up for each CenPOS Signature Capture device. Then, for each CSR that will use the device(s), associate that Device Location with the CSR in SA Operator Setup-Entry Options. CSRs can override the SA Operator Setup setting for the duration of a single sales order session using Sales Order Entry-Personalization-Defaults-Device Location; that setting reverts to the SA Operator Setup setting when the CSR logs out of the session.

Device configuration procedural tasks

After the setup is complete, you should modify your workflow so that for each sales order, a CSR always a) logs into a WebUI session, b) determines which device the Distribution SX.e WebUI client is associated with, in Sales Order Entry-Personalization-Defaults, c) selects the correct device, if a different device is associated, and d) logs out of the session when the order is complete and the card approval is received.
