Excel spreadsheet formatting for GL import

You can use a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to create general ledger entries. This is beneficial if you have business data created by an application or service external to the system General Ledger. Create and format the spreadsheet, specify the required information, and then import the spreadsheet.

Each line on the spreadsheet is considered a separate general ledger entry. To create general ledger entries from an Excel spreadsheet, you must format the spreadsheet in a specific way. If you do not format each spreadsheet correctly, an invalid import occurs. Also, the format for your spreadsheet differs depending upon the function you use to import. You can import a spreadsheet in GL Transaction Entry-Import From Excel, or GL Entry Batch Import Report.
