Shopping for Infor Rate Shopping freight rates in Sales Order Entry

You can access the Infor Rate Shopping - TM functionality in these functions:

  • Sales Order Entry-Taxes & Totals

These instructions are for accessing Infor Rate Shopping - TM freight rate shopping from Sales Order Entry. If you are not using Infor Rate Shopping - TM, see Shopping for freight rates in Sales Order Entry.

You are using the integration to Infor Rate Shopping - TM if the option Use TMS Freight Rate Shopping in SA Administrator Options-Integrations-TMS Integration Options is selected.

  1. Select Sales > Order > Entry.
  2. Create or maintain an order.
  3. Select the Taxes & Totals view.
  4. Click Freight Rate Shop. Basic order information is displayed. These values can be maintained, however, do not change these values unless you are sure of the weight, dimensions, etc. If you change the values in these fields, click Recalculate to recalculate the order freight or ship freight values listed for the Ship Via records in the grid.
    Use Ship Values
    Select this option to display either the ordered or shipped values on the order for these fields:
    • Weight
    • Cubes
    • Quantity
    Order Weight
    This is the sum of all ordered lines on the order, based on each product's weight from Product Setup or Product Catalog Setup if Use Ship Values is not selected.
    If Use Ship Values is selected, this is the sum of all shipped lines on the order.
    Specify the weight if no default value is displayed. The weight is required. If a product does not have a weight defined, this message is displayed to inform you that the weight-freight calculation is not based on all products: Warning Product With No Weight (8078) Lines: # of lines.
    Order Cubes
    This is the sum of all ordered lines on the order, based on each product's cube value from Product Setup or Product Catalog Setup if Use Ship Values is not selected.
    If Use Ship Values is selected, this is the sum of all shipped lines on the order.
    Order Quantity
    This is the sum of all ordered lines on the order, based on each product's cube value from Product Setup or Product Catalog Setup if Use Ship Values is not selected.
    If Use Ship Values is selected, this is the sum of all shipped lines on the order.
    Ship Via
    Select one or multiple Ship Vias from the list, or click Select All to return rates for all contracted carriers.
    Mode
    Select the transportation mode, either LTL, Parcel, or both. These are the only modes currently supported for Infor Rate Shopping - TM.
    Equipment Type
    Optionally, select the equipment type. These are set up in SA Table Code Value Setup-Transportation Equipment Type and can be assigned to products in Product Setup or Product Catalog Setup.
  5. By default, a single package is listed in the Packages grid. You can click Add Row to create up to five packages per order before obtaining freight rates for Infor Rate Shopping - TM. Specify these values for each package in the grid:
    • Package ID

      Optionally, select a Package ID from the list if you are using the cartonization feature and have packages set up in Product Cartonization Package Setup.

    • Length
    • Height
    • Weight
    • Transportation Package Type

      Optionally, select a Package type from the list. Package types are predefined parcel package types, such as tube, small box, or pallet that are assigned to each package on the order. They can also be associated with an internal package type in Product Cartonization Package Setup. Package types are not used with LTL shipments.

  6. Click Calculate.
  7. By default, the records are sorted from lowest rate to highest rate. When a record is selected, the Select button is enabled. Click Select to apply the selected ship via and freight rate to your order.
  8. Your change is reflected in the Current Ship Via field with the basic order information. Click the back arrow to exit Freight Rate Shop and return to the Taxes & Totals view.
  9. On the Taxes & Totals view, click Addons. Confirm the updated freight is displayed in the Addons grid. Note that Addon number 2 is reserved for Freight Out.
  10. Complete the order.
