Applying operational hold codes to open orders on hold

You must manually apply operational hold codes to open orders that were on hold before you activated the operational hold codes. Perform this procedure for each operational hold code that you are allowed to use, based on your operator security.

To use these instructions, you must use personalization to add the Approval field to the Maintain page in Sales Order Entry. Edit the Approval field in the Personalization window, and then clear the Hidden option.

You can also access the Approval field on the Customer Order Settings page. The field is available by default.

  1. Select Sales > Inquiry > Order.
  2. Perform an advanced search with these criteria:
    Legacy/Operational Hold Code Approval

    Select Legacy Hold Codes.

    Approval

Specify a legacy hold code value.

  3. Click More > Export to Excel.
  4. Apply one or more operational hold codes to the orders on the spreadsheet.
    1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
    2. Click Maintain, and then specify the order number.
    3. Click Next.
    4. Click the arrow next to the Approval field.

The value in the Approval field should match the approval value from the spreadsheet.

    5. Click Create.
    6. Select the operational hold code that corresponds to the legacy hold code.
Note: Single characters are ignored in some types of searches. We recommend that you search for the hold code description rather than the hold code value.
    7. Click Create.
    8. Optionally, apply additional operational hold codes.
    9. Click the back arrow.

Note that the Approval value has changed to n.

    10. Click Cancel.
