Using international export hold

We recommend that you develop a workflow that reflects your export policies. When enabled, each order being exported is put on international export hold. If you use legacy hold codes, reviewers can approve an order in either the Initiate window in Sales Order Entry or in Sales Credit Release Inquiry

Note: Use Sales Order Inquiry to determine if an order is on international export hold. View the International Approve Type in the General view.
  1. Approve an international order one of two ways:
    Approve from Sales Order Entry:
    1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
    2. Create or maintain an existing order.
    3. Specify Yes in the International Approval field.
You must use the Personalize feature to add the International Approval field to the user interface.
Approve from Sales Credit Release Inquiry:
    1. Select Sales > Inquiry > Credit Release.
    2. Conduct a search for orders on international export hold.
If you use legacy hold codes, orders on international approval hold are displayed in Sales Credit Release Inquiry by default. Retain the asterisk in the International Approve field to search for all hold codes. Clear the asterisk to search for orders on regular approval hold only. Or, specify a specific hold code to search for orders that match that international approval hold.
    3. In the grid, select an order in the grid, and then click International Approve to change the approval status in the International Approve Type column to Yes.
Optionally, you can click Quick Approval, and then click International Approval. The status of the record in the International Approve Type column displayed in the grid is changed from "I" to "Y".
  2. The order can now be printed, picked, shipped, and invoiced.
