Support for Sovos updates to Geo Code and Out of City options

Updates were made to Sovos Global Tax Determination (GTD) version 9.2.2 to improve the data that is returned when a lookup is performed on a ship to address that is used for taxing in Distribution SX.e. The GeoCode Multiple lookup now reflects what the actual Geo Code taxing jurisdictions are. The applicable State, County, City, and District taxing jurisdications, and Postal Code Extension are now returned in the lookup. In addition, if the Geo Code is an Out of City jurisdiction where no city tax is applied, only the applicable jurisdiction information is returned. For example, only the county and state jurisdiction information is returned in the lookup. In turn, the Geo Code and Out of City options are updated automatically based on this jurisdiction information.

This new validation may cause the error Invalid Geocode (2213) to occur when a ship to address's Geo Code and Out of City values do not match the new data returned from Sovos. You must manually update the Customer Setup or Customer Ship To record to resolve this error. To resolve, access the record in question and perform a lookup on the Geo Code. This activates the updated lookup logic and returns a valid Geo Code and Out of City setting. If you received the Invalid Geocode (2213) message in Sales Order Entry, you can return to the order and it should finish without error.

If you use an SX.api call to create orders in Distribution SX.e from a third-party application, changes were made to allow the order to be created when an Out of City indicator is returned by Sovos. The Geo Code and Out of City indicator is correctly applied to orders based on the ship to address included in the API calls.

Note: If you have multiple customer or customer ship to records that require validation and update, contact Infor Support for assistance with a support utility that can be run to perform a mass update of these records. This utility can also be used to update the Geo Code and Out of city indicator on sales orders with a single Geo Code.
