TWL integrated with Service Management

You can now use Total Warehouse Logistics (TWL) to pick, pack, and ship sales orders for Service Management material transactions to customers. Sales orders are assigned the Tag and Hold disposition to prevent TWL processing until after the service order is invoiced. Additionally, controls were added to prevent material transactions updates to service orders in Service Management after pick tickets are printed in Distribution SX.e. This enhancement primarily affects orders for non-assembly products in TWL warehouses, but orders for assembly products are also affected.

Non-assembly products

For service orders created in Service Management, the Tag and Hold disposition is applied to the corresponding sales order in Distribution SX.e to prevent shipping. To make the sales order available for processing in TWL, you must run the Sales Entry Processing Pick Tickets Report to advance the order to Picked (Stage 2). After pick tickets are printed, you cannot add, change, or delete material transactions lines on a service without first unpicking and undropping the TWL order. To avoid this manual process, we recommend that you instead enter new service orders.

After the service order is invoiced in Service Management, the Tag and Hold disposition is removed from the TWL order. The TWL order is auto-shipped if the order status is Packed. The Tag and Hold disposition is also removed from the sales order. A Ship transaction is created in WL Transaction Inquiry to ship the sales order when WL Entry Batch Shipping runs.

In support of this enhancement, an SRO column is now included in the Order - Search grid in TWL Order Drop Manager. Additionally, the service order material transaction type is displayed on TWL screens on Radio Frequency (RF) devices during picking.

Assembly products

Processing orders with assembly products in TWL was previously supported, but the original assembly workflow is affected by this enhancement. Select the new Allow Changes to Assembly Service Orders in TWL Warehouses after Pick Ticket Print option in SA Administrator Options-Integrations-Service Management to continue to update material transactions on service orders after the pick tickets are printed, as originally designed. By default, the option is not selected to align with non-assembly product processing. We recommend that you now enter new sales orders instead updating existing service orders.

Note: The Pick List Printed indicator is now selected on service orders with assembly products when you run the Sales Entry Processing Pick Tickets Report or the Sales Entry Generate Service Orders for Assembly Report.

Feature activation

Do Not Print Service Pick Ticket is an existing option that now applies to TWL warehouses. Clear this option to print pick tickets for material transactions on service orders in Distribution SX.e, instead of in Service Management. This option applies to non-assembly orders only.

Optionally, select Allow Changes to Assembly Service Orders in TWL Warehouses after Pick Ticket Print in SA Administrator Options-Integrations-Service Management to modify material transaction lines on service orders with assembly products after the corresponding sales orders are picked and released to TWL for processing.
