Environment configuration recommendations
Although it is possible to configure development portals in a production environment, we recommend that you have a separate environment for portal modifications. This environment should have a separate machine with the IPF Control Service, IIS, and a different IPF Control Database instance. When modifications are finished and tested, you can close the content for development, export it from the development system, and import it into the production system. The content can then be activated for use in the production portal(s).
Note: IPF should not be installed on the same
server as the back office application, for example Infor SyteLine or Infor Service Management, in any environment.
