Creating a portal in the Farm Manager
This topic describes how to create your first portal in the Farm Manager. After this portal is created, you can access the Portal Manager, where you will configure this portal.
- In the Farm Manager, select Farm Configuration > Portals.
- Click New.
- Specify this information:
- Portal Name
- Specify a unique name for this portal. The name is displayed in the Portal Manager. It is not displayed on the portal website.
- Host Name
- Specify the host name for this portal.
- Protocol
- The HTTPS protocol is specified by default for host names with an associated digital certificate. Otherwise, HTTP is used by default.
- Portal Site
- This field is not used for the first portal.
- Authenticator Data Source Name
- Specify the back office data source that is used for portal user password validation. The portal administrator user account must exist in this data source, because it will be used to sign in to the Portal Manager for this portal.
- Permissions
- Give administrator permissions to the Portal Admin group. The portal administrator user account is in this group. You can give administrator permissions to other users and/or groups as needed.
- Advanced Options
- This section is not used for the first portal.
- Click OK. The portal is added in a locked state until job processing finishes. You can click Refresh to see when the lock has cleared.
- Optionally, you can repeat steps 2 – 4 for each portal you plan to create, or you can add portals later in the Portal Manager.
