Manual OAuth configuration

With manual configuration, you can create only one OAuth key/secret at a time, and you must manually add this information on the Portal Parameters form. If you have multiple configured data sources for the portal, you can use the same key/secret for all of them, or you can create a new one for each data source and add it manually on the Portal Parameters form in each appropriate back office site.

  1. In the Portal Manager, select Portal Configuration > External Interface.
  2. Select the Open Authentication tab.
  3. Click New.
  4. On the New OAuth Client Registration form, click Generate Key/Secret.
  5. In the user account field, specify a back office user account. For example, you could specify the user that was set up as the sender of rich-HTML portal email. The account must belong to the Portal Data Admin group.
  6. Optionally, you can provide a description of this registration.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Save.
  9. In , open the Portal Parameters form.
  10. Make sure Use Portal Email is selected. This makes OAuth fields available for manual use.
  11. For this configured portal type (Customer, Vendor, or Reseller), specify the key and secret that were created in step 4. We recommend that you select the key in the Portal Manager and click Edit. This opens the Edit OAuth Client Registration form, so you can copy and paste the information.
  12. Save your changes on the Portal Parameters form.
