Supported file uploads
This topic describes requirements for uploading files on the portal administration pages. Requirements for portals running in the cloud environment are different in some areas, as specified.
File size and file name length
The maximum allowed file size is 10 MB for all files except MP4 video files. The maximum allowed file size for MP4 files is 2 GB. The maximum allowed file name length is 256 characters.
Video files
In an on-premises environment, these are the supported video types:
- HTML5: The file extension can be .ogv, .ogg, or .webm. The client browser must support HTML5 video.
- QuickTime: The file extension can be .mov, .mp4, .m4v, .mpg, .3gpp, .3gpp2, .avi, or .dv.
- YouTube Video: The video must exist on the YouTube.com website. You can specify the video URL or the video ID when adding the product video record. The video file is not uploaded to tables in the back office application.
In a cloud environment, these are the supported video types:
- MP4 or MP4V
- YouTube: The video must exist on the YouTube.com website. You can specify the video URL or the video ID when adding the product video record. The video file is not uploaded to tables in the back office application.
Document files
In an on-premises environment, all document types supported by the browser can be uploaded on the portal.
In a cloud environment, documents uploaded on the portal must be PDF files.
Image files
Images uploaded on the portal must be JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, or BMP files.
