Rebuilding portal catalogs

If item information is updated in the back office, you must rebuild portal catalogs that contain the item. For example, if one of the selection criteria for a catalog is on product code XYZ, and a new item is associated with XYZ, then in order to include the new item in the catalog, it must be rebuilt.

You can rebuild manually or schedule a background task for the Portal Catalog Build Utility form.

To rebuild manually:

  1. Open the Portal Catalog Build Utility form.
  2. Perform one of these tasks:
    • To rebuild all pending catalogs, select Build all Planned.
    • To rebuild all active catalogs, select Build all Active.
  3. Click Process.
    Note: You can rebuild a single catalog while working with it on the Portal Catalog Workbench form, by clicking Re-build Catalog Items.
