Restoring a form or object retrieves it from the archive database and
returns it to the appropriate master database. You can restore an object only
if it has been previously archived.
To restore a global object:
-
Open the
Form Control
form.
-
In the
Actions group box, select
Restore.
-
Select the
Global Objects tab.
-
From the
Selection criteria list,
select the type of global object that you want to restore.
-
From the
Archive object name field,
select the name of the object that you want to restore.
Note: The list of objects available in the
Archive object name
field depends on the type of object you selected.
Form Control lists this information about the selected object:
- Locked by user
- This field should always be blank for restore operations.
- Master value
- Verify that the object does not exist in the master database.
Caution: If there is an object of that type and
name in the master database, and you continue the restore operation, the object
in the master database is overwritten with the value from the archive database.
- Archive value
- This field shows the value that the object has in the archive
database.
-
Click
Execute Action.
-
When prompted, click
OK.
-
Optionally, in the
Source Control Comment dialog box, specify a
comment and then click
Attach Comment.
If you do not want to enter a comment, click
No Comment.
