Copying a replication document

To customize a replication document for your particular use, you must often first make a copy of the document. This is because the metadata for some replication documents and their elements and attributes are now tagged as "read-only", based on their Access As identifiers. While you can create and update elements and attributes for these replication documents, you cannot modify or delete any metadata that is marked as "read-only". To be able to modify such metadata, you must first have a copy that is associated with your Access As identifier. When you create the copy, it is created with your Access As identifier, and you can modify any metadata that might otherwise be read-only.

Copying a replication document means that you want to create your own version of the entire replication document (including its elements and attributes), with a new name.

Note: Inbound Cross References metadata and Outbound Cross References metadata are not included in this process.
  1. Open the Replication Documents form.
  2. Select the replication document you want to copy.
  3. Click Copy Replication Document.
The Copy Replication Document form opens with the selected replication document displayed in the Current Replication Document field.
  4. In the New Replication Document field, provide a name for the new copy.
  5. Click Copy Replication Document.
The copy of the replication document is created and is now available from the list of replication documents on the Replication Documents form.
Note: You might need to refresh the list of replication documents before the copied document displays in the list.
