Editing the Sales Potential

The sales potential is the total revenue to be gained by the opportunity. By default, the sales potential is the calculated sum of all the associated products.

You can disable the automatic calculation of an opportunity sales potential and manually add a sales potential amount. This is required, if the application is integrated with an accounting system that manages the products for the company.

Note: If you disable the automatic calculation and manually specify a value, all calculations that use the sales potential are not updated with the non-calculated value.
  1. Click Sales Potential on the Opportunity details page. The Opportunity Snapshot window is displayed. ,
  2. Select the Override calculated sales potential check box.
    Note: If this check box is cleared, all calculations are updated based on the opportunity business rules.
  3. Specify the value in the required fields.
  4. Click Submit.
