Importing records

  1. Click Import Contacts and Accounts on the Contacts list page. The Import Account Contact Request window is displayed.
    Note: To access this window, you can also select:
    • Click New Import on the Import Contacts and Accounts History page.
    • Click Imports Leads and Accounts on the Leads list page.
  2. Specify the description of the list of records to be imported, in the Description field.
  3. Click Select File to select and upload the file. You can also drag and drop the file in the Drop File Here section.
  4. Click Upload.
  5. Select these check boxes in the Options section based on the requirement:
    • Process As Leads: If this check box is selected, the list of names are imported as unqualified leads instead of contacts. If an associated account is created as part of the import, the account is identified as an unqualified account.
    • Check For Duplicates: If this check box is selected, potential duplicate records are not imported. These records are listed as potential duplicates in the Import history record.
      Note: This option is selected by default.
    • Allow Insert: If this check box is selected, the records can be imported.
      Note: This option is selected by default.
    • Log Detail: If this check box is selected, the import log details of the import to be available on the Import History record. If this option is cleared the import history record only includes basic information of the import, such as start and finish.
      Note: The values in these fields are defaulted:
      • Default Account Manager
      • Default Owner
    • To reset the options to the default values, click Reset Defaults.
  6. Click Submit.
