Configuring a Chart Widget

Chart widgets can be configured by the user to display specific information within the widget.

  1. Click the Widget menu icon.
  2. Select Configure.
  3. Specify a title. The title is displayed in the widget title bar.
    Note: By default, the widget title bar displays an out-of-the box widget name. However, the user can modify the title, if required.
  4. Select the required Entity to retrieve the data. Possible values:
    • Account
    • Contact
    • Opportunity
    • Quote
    • Sales Order
  5. Select the required filter to view.
    Note: User can only view filters to which permissions are provided. The filter options are based on the entity selected. The user can view the filters if the required permissions are provided.

    For example, if you select the entity Opportunity, you can view the filters that are available for opportunities such as, My Opportunities and All Opportunities.

  6. Specify this information:
    Dimension
    The data required to view.
    Note: User can view only the data for which data permissions are provided. The dimension options based on the entity you select.

    For example, if you select Opportunity, you can view options such as Potential and Probability.

    Metric
    The method of calculating the data. The metric options based on the entity you select.

    For example, if you select Opportunity, you can view options such as Count Opportunities and Days From Open to Close.

    Type
    The type of chart that is required to view in the widget. Possible values:
    • Bar: Displays the data in horizontal bars.
    • Column: Displays the data in vertical columns.
    • Donut: Displays the data in a donut chart format, separated by color.
    • Funnel: Displays the data in progressive proportions in a color-coded funnel.
    • Line: Displays the data as a series of data points connected by a line.
    • Pie: Displays the data in a pie separated by color with a legend accompanying the data.
  7. Click Save.
