Adding or editing Shipping Contact information

A shipping contact is the contact and address information to be used when shipping items that are part of a quote or sales order. A quote or sales order can have only one shipping contact. You can modify an existing shipping contact, however, you cannot delete a shipping contact. To change the shipping contact, use the Contact lookup to select a different contact.

Note: You can only add shipping contact information if:
  • The sales order has not yet shipped or been invoiced.
  • The quote has not expired or been converted to a sales order.
  1. Expand the Shipping Contact related section on the Sales Order or Quote details page.
  2. Perform one of these actions:
    • Click Insert if a Shipping Contact record does not exist.
    • Click Edit if a Shipping Contact record exists.
  3. Specify this information:
    Contact
    The contact record associated with the shipping information for the quote or sales order.
    Address
    The address for the shipping contact.
    Note:  You can click Edit to add or modify address information. To view a map of the address, click Map. If Contour integration is enabled and configured a map using the Contour provider is displayed.
    Early Shipment Allowed
    Select this check box to allow the associated products to be shipped before the expected ship date.
    Partial Shipment Allowed
    Select this check box to allow the associated products to be shipped separately as products are ready to ship.
    Drop Shipment Allowed
    Select this check box to allow the associated products to be shipped directly from the manufacturer or another provider.
    Ship Via
    The carrier used for delivering the sales order or quote.
    Note: This field is displayed only when Back Office Extension is not enabled.
  4. Click Submit.
