Adding a new Lead

Use the Add New Lead window to add a new lead. If this window is accessed from the Account details page view, the selected account name is defaulted in the Account field. However, you can modify this value.

Note: If you are creating a lead for an account that is not yet in the application, you can also create a new account. To add a new account, click Add New Account corresponding to the Account field to add an account before you continue adding a lead.

To add a new lead:

  1. Click Leads in the navigation pane. The Leads list page is displayed.
  2. Select Lead option from the Add New menu. The Add New Lead window is displayed.
  3. Specify this information:
    First Name
    The first name of the lead.
    Last Name
    The last name of the lead.
    Email
    The email address of the lead. This email address is considered as the primary email address until another email address is set as primary.
    Phone number
    The phone number of the lead. This number is considered as the primary phone number until another number is set as primary.
    Note: You must select the country to determine the format of the phone number.
    Account
    The name of the account linked to the lead.
    Note: The application defaults this value if the Add New Lead window is accessed from the Account details page.
    Type
    The type of lead. Possible values:
    • Consultant
    • Decision Maker
    • Other
    • Team Member
    • Technical
    • User
    Owner
    The person or team in the organization who has access to the account.
    Note: The application defaults this value based on the account owner. You cannot modify this value.
  4. Click Submit.
    A message is displayed on the top at the right side of the page with a link to view the new record.
