Adding a new Quote

  1. Click Master Explorer > Sales > Quotes. The Quotes list page is displayed.
  2. Select Quote from the Quick Add menu. The Add New Quote window is displayed.
  3. Specify this information:
    Account
    The account linked to the quote.
    Note: This is a required field.
    Account Manager
    The person or team in the organization that manages the quote.
    Requested By
    The contact requesting for the quote.
    Customer RFQ
    The request number of the customer for the quote reference.
    Opportunity
    The opportunity linked to the quote.
    Location
    The site or office from where the order is generated.
    Note: 
    • This information cannot be modified, if the sales order is successfully promoted to an integrated back office application.
    • This field is enabled when the Allow Override of Back Office Setting check box is selected on the User Maintenance page.
    • If a value is not specified in this field, the Location value specified on the User Maintenance page is defaulted.
    Start Date
    The start date of the quote.
    Expiration Date
    The date on which the quote expires. If a value is not specified, the application defaults a value based on the start date. The number of days is determined by the administrator.
    Status
    The status of the quote. You must specify this field.
    Currency Code
    The currency code for the quote.
    Exchange Rate
    The exchange rate between the base currency of the company and the quote currency.
    Comments
    The additional notes about the quote.
  4. Click Submit.
    A message is displayed at the right side of the page with a link to review the new record.
