Customizing Opportunity Description Convention

  1. Select Master Explorer > System Administration > Configuration And Users > Custom Settings from the navigation bar. The Custom Settings list page is displayed.
  2. Select Opportunity Description Convention. The setting related data is displayed in the details pane.
  3. Click Format. The default format is {Account Name}-Phase-{Account Opportunity Count+1.
  4. Use the Formatter window to add text, spaces, separators, or fields to the available list. You can:
    • Select the item in the Available options list and click the right arrow to add the items from the Available list to the Selected list.
    • Select the item in the Selected options list and click left arrow to remove fields from items from the Selected list.
    • Select the item in the Selected list, click the ellipsis until the cursor changes. Drag the item to the required location to reorganize the items.
  5. Click Open on the Forms menu.
  6. Select Format Property Mapping Maintenance.
  7. Click OK. The Format Property Mapping Maintenance window is displayed.
  8. Click New.
  9. Specify this informtion:
    Map Name
    Set Map Name to CRMOpportunityDescription.
    Data Code
    Select the type of value to be added. Possible values:
    • Count: Performs a count on the IDO and selected Property Name. Possible values:
      • IDO: This option is set to CRM Account for CRM Opportunity Description. This field cannot be modified.
      • Property Name: Select the property that is to be counted and increment from the options.
    • Static: Enables user to specify text, separators, or a space.

      Specify the text and symbol that is to be included in Opportunity Naming Convention in the Value field.

      Specify the name to identify the format item in the Display field.

    • Property: Enables the user to select an IDO property within the Account IDO.
      Note: Only some properties are available to be included in Opportunity Naming Conventions.

      IDO: This field is set to CRMAccount for CRMOpportunityDescription and cannot be modified.

      Property Name: Select the property to be included in Opportunity Naming Convention.

    • Picklist: Possible values:
      • Picklist Code: Select the picklist that contains the picklist item that is to be included in Opportunity Naming Convention.
      • Picklist Item Code: Select the picklist item that is to be included in Opportunity Naming Convention.
  10. Select Replace.
  11. Click Submit and then click Save.
