Moving Contacts or Leads to another Account

You can move contacts or leads that have been incorrectly created under the incorrect account or to merge the contacts and leads of duplicate accounts after an import.

You cannot move contacts or leads from one account to another account if:

  • The account has a related item other than:
    • Contact
    • Addresses
    • Emails
    • Phone Numbers
    • Websites
  1. Select Master Explorer > Sales > Accounts. The Account list page is displayed.
  2. Click the name of the account. The Account details page is displayed.
  3. Verify that none of the related items contain records, except:
    • Contacts
    • Leads
    • Addresses
    • Emails
    • Phone Numbers
    • Websites
    Note: The contacts or leads cannot be moved if the account contains any other related items or is integrated with a back office.
  4. Click Move Contacts/Leads on the toolbar in the details page.
  5. Click To Account lookup, and select the destination account.
  6. Select Delete account after moving contacts or leads check box to delete the account after moving the contacts or leads.
  7. Click Submit.
