Overriding the Opportunity Description custom setting

Use the Override Opportunity Description custom setting to determine if users can edit the Opportunity Description field when adding an opportunity.

Note: When the Override Opportunity Description custom setting option is set to False, the enabled user option is disregarded. In this case, the Opportunity field is populated using default naming convention.

Select Master Explorer > System Administration > Configuration And Users > Custom Settings from the navigation bar.
Select Opportunity Naming Default User Option.
Set the Data Value field to True to enable users to change the Use default naming conventions options.
Click Save.
You can also determine if the users can edit the Opportunity Description field when adding an opportunity by setting the Override Opportunity Description option to True.
Note: Users cannot change the Opportunity Description field when the Override Opportunity Description option is set to False.
